Amazing Statements

John 7:46 "The officers answered, Never man spake like this man."

Luke 7:34 "The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!"

John 18:38 "Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all."

Matthew 27:54 "Now when the centurion…watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God."

Introduction

Mark 7:31 "And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis."

Jesus' ministry to a Gentile woman (cf. 7:26);

He travelled to a Gentile City (v.31);

Mark 7:32 "And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him."

Record of many who are sick (Matthew 15:29-31);

Reason for this successful ministry (Mark 5:15-17; 19-20).

1. He Doeth All Things Well

1. He took him aside (v.33)

2. His fingers in his ears (v.33);

3. His saliva on him (v.33);

4. His touch of his tongue (v.33);

5. His look to heaven (v.34);

6. His sigh for this man (v.34);

7. His Words, 'Be Open' (v.34).

2. He Had Done All things Well

1. His Work of Creation

Genesis 1:31 "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day."

2. His Work of Providence

Psalm 107:8-9 "Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness."

3. His Work of Redemption

John 19:30 "It is finished"!

Colossians 2:14-15 "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it."

3. He shall make all things well

The Lord's healing is a pre-vision of greater things to come;

Creation of a new heavens and new earth - no sickness and no grave there.

We will then with our tongues praise Him more gloriously than the angels praise Him now!

Isaiah 35:5 "Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped."

The prophet Isaiah describes the Age of the Messiah;

When the Christ comes, great things shall happen (v.1-10);

Grace and glory will restore what sin had ruined (cf. Rev. 21:4,5).

Conclusion

In what areas has the Lord done things well for you?

Have you experienced His powerful touch and healing on your soul?

Let HIM open your ears to hear HIS gentle voice and loosen your tongue to praise HIM Who alone does All Things Well.
