FAMILY ALTAR SONG BOOK

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:"

SING.

The future of the church is inextricably tied to the state of the covenant home. As goes the home, so goes the church, and so goes the nation.

It is in the home that truth must be taught, faith strengthened, and the Christian duties exercised. It is in the home where God must be worshipped and praised, where our children learn to love and obey God's Word, and where we learn to pray for ourselves and intercede for others.

Here's some practical suggestions for you as you start your family altar.

  • Set a fixed time when everyone is available.

  • Keep it short and sweet.

  • Take turns to lead the family worship and pray. Dad, Mom and children too.

  • Make the time delightful. Do not use the family worship time to criticize or gossip.

Remember it is a time to worship the LORD.
